Some apps that can make life easier are worth 30 minutes of learning. Also, if possible, simply: Only use easily organized communications, such as texts and emails.
NEW YORK – Real estate professionals can benefit from primarily free or affordable apps, says Rachael Hite, who specializes in private business development and digital marketing services for top producing agents and companies. Technology can be scary for some people, but she suggests learning to use the things that will save you time and money while, at the same time, limiting those tech tools to keep everything simple.
Hite suggests trying to limiting important conversations to one or two platforms to simplify tracking. To that end, agents should also keep a real estate communications diary on a spreadsheet or a note-taking app. Who-said-what-and-when may be important one day.
In addition, agents should take a moment at the end of each day to examine what occurred and look over and respond to emails, voicemails, offers received and phone calls. This habit makes it easier to go back to the date and check for all digital communications.
Agents should also turn on “read receipts,” back up messages in the cloud, and know how to access messages in an emergency.
Google Voice is an excellent option for agents who do not feel comfortable giving out their personal cell phone numbers. The app can be synced with a Google Workspace to manage several business needs.
It may also be worthwhile to download Zillow’s premier and consumer apps, known as Zillow Premier Agent and Zillow, respectively. Most consumers spend time on this application, so agents should ensure their contact information is up to date and set up automatic listing alerts/closed reports to email clients directly from the MLS.
Other key apps include DocuSign, a digital signature document management system; Canva for creating content; Lensa for photo editing; and Buffer, a social media management app that is compatible with Instagram.
